MINISTRIES & PROGRAMS Eyes on Christ: Sheridan Baptist Church is very excited to be a part of this international ministry. Eyes on Christ is a relatively simple idea. We modeled the concept after Christ's ministry. Many times He set the exampe of ministering to someone physically, revealing who He is spiritually and then discipled the individual. Eyes on Christ teams with missionaries already on the field. We set up an eye care clinic to provide eye glasses and medications to minister to people's physical needs. We have evangelists available to reveal who Christ is and the sacrifice He made for everyone. Once the Eyes on Christ team leaves, the missionary on the field then continues to disciple. KidZone: Sheridan FBC is currently ministering to pre-teen youngsters with our Jr. Church services. Sister Julie is directing this ministry and Katie Schoeff is assisting by teaching alternating weeks. We are looking forward to one of our newest members stepping in to help with this ministry in the very near future. Teen Scene: Before accepting the Missionary Pastor position for Sheridan First Baptist Church, Brother Alan was the youth pastor at Columbus Baptist Church in Columbus, IN. Currently he and the FBC Family are developing a teen outreach program. In years past, he has led youth groups on evengelism missions to Mexico City, Mexico and to the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. He has also taken teens camping, caving and canoeing. Men's Group: This is a traditional fellowship for men. We meet on a regular basis for breakfast. Sometimes we have a carry in breakfast and sometimes we enjoy something from one of the local eateries. |
